Lettuce be fit is
a company which promotes an active and healthy lifestyle through
dance, exercise, pantomime, physical comedy and a variety of
movement activities.
We feel that
exercise should be considered a necessary life-long commitment for
mental and physical well being, and lack of exercise should be
considered detrimental to one’s health.
A sample of our
Lettuce be fit programs include:

Lecture-demonstrations
for teachers on movement activities for pre-school and elementary
school children. New brain research findings are supporting
the importance of movement in the learning process and should be
included in the classroom.
Balancing
Act—skill specific movement patterns, drills and exercises that help
develop strength, endurance, quickness, agility, dynamic balance and
core strength. This program is for the recreation player or skilled
competitive player and includes specific lessons for golf, tennis,
hockey and soccer.

For the ballroom
and adult tap dancers we have designed a series of exercise based on
unconscious balance adjustment which enhances style, poise and
balance on the dance floor.
“B S with Jim” is
a series of interactive lectures, delivered with the physical comedy
and humor that only Jim could do, based on a holistic approach to
promoting a healthy lifestyle for the “over 50” population.
Some of the
lecture demonstrations include:
“B”etter “S”tart
with Jim. Let’s get physical! He employs his movement motivation
skills to jump-start an exercise program for beginners. He offers
advice and tips on kicking it up a notch for those already
exercising.
“B”alance
“S”tability with Jim. This lecture-demonstration on balance will
help you stand more firmly on your feet. His training techniques are
designed to improve balance, postural stability and reduce the risk
and fear of falls. He will perform some of his mime and physical
comedy to demonstrate how to fall and maintain balance on unstable
surfaces. Jim will also demonstrate the use of balance trainers and
exercises you can do anywhere, anytime.
Other programs in
the “B S with Jim” series include Better Stretch, Body Strength and
Better Stress. |
